Zor Shrine has been sponsoring Shrine Circuses in Zor’s territory since the mid 1950’s. Originally the Madison area circus was held in the Arena building on the Dane County fair grounds. In 1967 when the Dane County Coliseum opened the Shrine Circus was the first major event to use the new facility. The Madison area circus continues to hold its circus in the renamed Alliant Energy Center, Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The Shriners in the Eau Claire and La Crosse areas have been providing the enjoyment of a Shrine Circus for many years to young and old alike in their areas. In recent years, Zor Shriners have been sponsoring circuses in smaller communities around the State. Most of Zor’s circuses are produced by George Carden Circus International. Proceeds from Zor Shrine sponsored circuses are for the benefit of Zor Shrine. Payments are not deductible as charitable contributions. A list of Zor sponsored circuses for 2009 are listed below.
